PROJECTS IN NIGERIA
I have always wanted to do something spectacular
since my childhood days. Founding libraries was
one of such things. Indeed I founded a Readers'
Club in 1983 using Henry Carr Library located at
the premises of the Oniwaya High School, Agege,
as the club meeting place. The Readers' Club has
long become moribond for several logistic reasons.
Now, I am trying to resurrect my desire to found
libraries, by using new peace clubs as mini-libraries
and peace education centers. Those peace clubs are
the African Children of Peace Clubs, (ACPC); the
Youth Peace Alliance Clubs, (Y-PAC); the
KAIROS Peace and Love Clubs (KPLC); and the
New Peace Legacy Clubs (NPLC). It is my desire
to launch three mini-libraries to mark the 5th
Anniversary of APPLI/AFPLI in Nigeria.
Negotiation is ongoing with officials at Education
Districts I, II and VI of Lagos State to locate the
mini-libraries.
